Bottle. Dull gold with a coat of cream head. Mild aroma of apples, pears, oranges, hazelnut toffees and earth. Taste is more assertive than the aroma suggests - there’s a real initial earth/ floral hop bite before fruit and caramel sweetness. Nutty dry finish. Pretty tasty and got all this way fresh but lacks mystery and life.

it seems like sam smith prides itself at making good english session beers and this one is right on pace. I actually ordered an old brewery pale ale and got this, but thats alright. nothing too distinctive, not overbearing in any taste, balanced between hops and malts, not too much white head and lacing, could envision having about 10 of these in a pub on a rainy day in london.

550 ml bottle purchased at MDL in Overland Park, Kansas. SJ07H1 printer on the neck of the bottle. Pour is clear golden with a few carbonation bubbles and a smallish white head. Aroma of honey, grass and some apricot fruit. Malty, biscuit odor. Taste is the fruit and honey sweetness of the nose, with a nice soft phenol and yeast esters to the finish that is dryish. Palate is medium to light bodied, with a nice mouth scrubbing carbonation. Clean and easy to drink.

clear orange, thick offwhite head. malty, flowery aroma, ever so slightly fruity, refreshing. honey. flavor is malty, faint fruity, mild and a little bitter. also some metal. bitterness as in HOF, quite soft palate, even though it is sort of macro’ish in its profile , and it has a little metal in the flavor, i like this beer. would be a good companion when wathcing football or some such.

550 ml bottle. Smells of skunk and sweet malt. Skunk goes away after awhile. Definitely not my style. Bland, boring ale; the worst beer I’ve tried from my favorite British brewery. I’ve yet to rank their Taddy Porter, Oatmeal Stout, or Imperial Stout on this website, but those three beers are in my all-time favorite top 10. It’s sad this beer didn’t live up to those classics.

bottle from Darts Farm, Exeter. Hazy golden yellow, mid-sized creamy head. Fruity nose. Medium-bodied, malty background, slightly fruity with shy but pleasant aromatic hops in the finish, which adds a citrusy character.

Bottle. Pours with a white, foamy head over a clear golden body. Aroma of honey, dust, corn, grain and bread. Taste is sweet and grainy with honey, chlorine and light acetaldehyde. Boring. Livelyish carbonation and a mouthfeel that is on the dry side of things.
