Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Ocado. Pours clear burnished gold with a frothy, off-white head. Lightly toasted malts in the nose, some faint orange peel, grains, biscuits, nips of toffee. Light to medium sweet flavour with mellow leafy bitterness, more bread, lightly tasted grains, very subtle butterscotch, faint earth. Light bodied with average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, with more toasty, bready malts, low bitterness, light leafy notes, undertones of citrus. It ain’t sophisticated, but it drinks just fine.

Bottle at home pocked up from Sainsbury’s. Light amber / orange coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma holds pronounced English yeast esters with berry and hedgerow, nutty grains and a little unrefined sugars. Flavour is composed of nutty grainy malts, a little stale, berry and earthy hop. Slight dry mineral quality to the water profile. Palate us semi sweet, dusty on the tongue. Finish is semi dry. Moderate carbonation.

(Bought as a bottle of Sainsburys Yorkshire Bitter) Clear, lively amber beer with a thick frothy head and a slightly sweet, hoppy aroma. Flavour is a slightly odd mix. Initially a sweet, fruity hit with a strong taste of apples, the sweetness quickly making way for bitter hop and then ending up with a dry, malty finish.

Bottle labelled as Sainsburys TTD Yorkshire bitter. An amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweetish, malty aroma. Tastes malty, fruity, slightly hoppy. This was surprisingly good.

Medium offwhite head. Clear amber body. Fruity earthy nutty aroma with meaty caramelly notes. Dry-sweet earthy caramelly meaty taste with fruity notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish fruity meaty resiny aftertaste with caramelly notes. Nice, but way too meaty. (0.5l bottle, from House of Trembling Madness, York.)

Bottle as Sainsbury’s Yorkshire Bitter. Pours copper with a creamy off-white head. Aroma is floral and malty. Med body, almost. Flavor is mostly floral hop with some very nice light roasty malt. It’s dry. It’s bitter. It’s very good.
