This new beer makes its début at this Wetherspoon real-ale festival and is a rich, dark brew, made with chocolate and a fine blend of malt and hops, to create a flavour which is definitely addictive. Golding Hops

Cask handpull at Thomas Ingoldsby, JDW, Canterbury. Deep, deep ruby colour thin dark beige head. No big expectation from previous reviews. It’s a slightly choccy mild. It’s a mild. It’s a mild what do you expect? It’s mild and it’s a mild.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. Mahogany with a ring of cream head; milk chocolate aroma; rather thin with a light milk chocolate taste at first then developing a touch of plummy fruitiness; then a lightly fruited finish. A really pleasant mild.

26th October 2010.
Spoons Fest! Clear very dark brown beer. Tidy creamy off white head.Light semi soft and semi dry palate. Soft sweetich dark chocolate - powder, a little creamy dark malt. Some tangyness coming through - a whisper of sulphur hop. Finishes dry with a mild dark malt aftertaste. Okay but I could not imagine sessioning this.

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms, Bristol 26/10/10. Deep brown with a slight, off-white head. Aroma of milk chocolate with some doughy malt. Flavour had plenty of chocolate powder on top of a thinnish malty body. A half pint was quite enough, as other drinkers and the barman warned me.
