Bottle. Caramel malt and grassy hops aroma. Dark amber color with small head. Sweet caramel malt flavor with a light grassy hops finish. Body on the light side. The aroma showed so much promise but the flavor didn’t deliver.

Test vom 4.2.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 7,7,8,8,9,7

Bottle at the Düsseldorf Gathering. Clear amber body. Lightly browb, fizzy head. Aroma of malts, flowers, honey, ... Lightly sweet flavour. Ok, but not splendid at all.

(bottle) This one is a very well quaffable brew, but rather uncommon for an Alt. It reminds me a little bit of the Stiefel-Jürgens Ur-Alt from Beckum, Westphalia. Reddish amber colour with a small tanned head. Fruity aroma of bananas and caramellish malts. Sweet and malty start, followed by a dry roastmalty finish with fruity undertones.

Bottle: Dark amber coloured, medium off-white head, lasting; fruity, yeasty nose with an aroma of roasted malts from far behind...; fruiity beginning, very smooth, yeast and caramel notes in the background; the yeasty taste dominates until the short bitter-fruity finish; very unusual interpretation of the "Duesseldorf"-Alt-style, but well quaffable......

Very interesting berrylike aroma. Brown amber coloring, low disapearing creamy head. Flavor is like berry marmelade on slightly roasted rye bread, the impression stays far into the finish. Light bodyand mellow mouthfeel with a soda sparkle. Thanks to Dortmunder for this very interresting brew.
