Undated can from the brewery cooler, drunk 7/15/24. Almost clear, but with a bit of chill haze. Deep bronze-golden. Large, off-white head, creamy, well-retained. Hmmm, this is quite a bit of crystal malt character in the nose. Caramel, iced tea, overly toasted malt and tannin. Simcoe and Amarillo seem like pretty bad hops to use here, as they exacerbate the woodiness and tannic-like notes, though that doesn't come forth in the nose really. It's mostly just clean, piney, grapefruity and malty. Weird bitterness, sweat, heavy toast, almost buttered toast and yet too much specialty malt leaving the body thin and in need of more base malt depth. It's clean, is about all you can say for it. Hops are very vague and underwhelming. Bitterness is low. Just not much going on here. Definitely dont want the most prominent note in your IPA to be toast...Would be more ok with it being simple, light and crushable were it not 6.5%. If I want simple, light and crushable, I'll drink a 4.5% pale ale.

16 oz can. Aroma has soft cracker malt with soft melon. Flavor falls neuroma with mild orange or passionfruit. Almost no bitterness. Soft herb in the finish. Gets sweet as it warms. Overall, it is ok.

Pint at Bear Naked pours a mostly clear gold with some frothy, white head. Old school looking. Nose has malt and honey, some herbs and flowers, orange. Flavor is very approachable, simple but effective grain bill, biscuit, honey, orange, herbs, flowers. Finishes just a touch buttery. Simple but also refreshing. 6 4 6 4 12
