Dégustée en fût au Brouhaha à Montréal. De couleur brune foncée et quasi-opaque. Nez de vanille, moyen de caramel toffee et de chocolat au lait, légèrement boisé (bourbon) avec des notes de café, de noix, de miel et d’alcool. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement huileuse. Goût de vanille accompagné de notes de chocolat au lait lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un moyen de malt rôti avec un léger goût de caramel toffee sucré et de chocolat noir ainsi que des petites traces de miel. Parallèlement, l’on retrouve un léger goût boisé (bourbon sucré) avec un léger goût d’alcool aux notes réchauffantes jusqu’en finale, où des notes de houblon herbeux sont détectées au travers d’un léger goût de café et de noix. Post-goût long, composé d’un goût de vanille ainsi qu’un moyen goût boisé, légèrement amer de rôti doux, léger de café et d’alcool avec des traces de chocolat noir et de houblon herbeux. On tap at Winter Warmer: Poured a cloudy dark brown color ale with a small foamy head. Aroma consists of candy mix in with some vanilla and luscious notes of bourbon. This has to be one of the most pleasant but over the top aromas I had the chance to experience – very nice but ends up being too much after a while. Taste is a complex mix between some candy notes with some bourbon and some residual sugar. Vanilla and light woody notes are also perceptible. Body is full with an oily texture and some good carbonation for the style with no apparent alcohol. Very intriguing and something I would mind having once in a while in small servings.

A deep dark brown ale with a very thin off white head. In aroma, intense milk chocolate, powdery and smooth, perfumey, not bad. In mouth, a smooth minty chocolate milk, nice and smooth, vanilla notes, alcohol warmth. On tap at Montreal Winter Warmer, Feb. 25 2012.
