Bouteille claire 330ml.

(Bottle 33 cl) A beer with 5% Grand Marnier - well, that’s a first. Beautiful deep amber, not much head. Pronounced orange-flavour from the added liquor and lots and lots of sweetness. But actually quite delicious. The label is printed on the bottle. 191203

Blond color. Sweet aroma, citrus fruits and honey, more Cointreau-like than Grand Marnier… Similar comment for the taste, sweet. Not a good idea!

I passed this over last time I was in Nova Scotia, but since I'm here twice the same year, I'm scroungin' for some new stuff to sample while I verify beers. Dull amber colour. Slightly boozy, very sugary aroma. Sugary taste. Fizzy, with grand marnier notes. Little beer character. Just another French booze/beer gimmick-ass hybrid. This beer is proof that while the French have pretensions of being tasteful, they're not. There's more good taste in a Mexican peasant's tortilla soup than in 50% of the French population's drinks of choice.
