Draft at Hopfenstark Station Ho.st, Montreal. Aroma of citrus and caramel. Taste is citrus, caramel, tea and pine. More malty than the average APA, but decent.

On tap at Mondial de la bière Montréal 2015. It’s an unclear, dark golden colored beer topped by a small, off-white head. Caramel-malty nose with some wort and bread, and some piney, citrusy hops. It’s medium bodied, soft and nicely carbonated, with a decent bitterness. Citrusy, lightly grassy hops on a backdrop of bready, caramel-ish malts. Soft bitter finish with citrus notes and too much malt flavors, just like in the aroma and the initial flavor. Else it’s a fine and flawless brew. 150611

Pours hazy golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus and grape. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long malty, caramel, citrus and grape finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle: Poured a bright orangey color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of light fruity hops notes with semi-sweet caramel malt base is interesting. Taste is mostly dominated by fruity hops with some semi-sweet ca5ramelized malt and light floral finish. Body is about average with good carbonation. Overall this was an enjoyable experience though this is far form a variety of hops that I enjoy.

Bouteille 750ml. De couleur ambrée et voilée. Nez de houblon floral aux notes herbeuses (herbes fraîches) et résineuses, de grains de malt sucrés aux notes rôties, léger de pain, de fruits (agrumes, traces de pêches) avec des notes de biscuits et de caramel doux. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen ainsi qu’une texture légèrement crémeuse. Goût moyennement amer de houblon floral, légèrement herbeux (herbes fraîches) aux notes résineuses (une amertume présente toute la gorgée) ainsi qu’un goût moyennement fruité (agrumes, notes de pêches, faibles traces de mangues) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût de grains de malt légèrement sucrés et aux notes rôties avec un léger goût de pain ainsi que des notes de biscuits et de caramel très doux puis en finale l’amertume de houblon se faitr assez asséchante, légèrement plus résineux et herbeux. Post-goût moyen-long et sec, moyennement amer de houblon résineux, moyennement floral et herbeux avec un léger goût fruité (zeste d’agrumes).

Starts with a very nice smell. Lots of ripe grapefruit and tangerine citrus. Pours amber with clouds. A little lacing. Almost some oakiness in aroma as well. Taste is bitter with some citrus peel astringrency. Tap at volos.

A hazed golden EPA with a thick light moka head. A nice smooth caramel malt with light floral hops, some light treacle. In mouth, a smooth ale with caramel malt, smooth floral hops, menthol coolness, very nice. On tap at Mondial 2011, June 9, 2011.
