LEO WEISSE with its full round taste and own inimitable character reigns supreme in Bavarian wheat beer realms, the real secret behind it lying in the brewery’s distinct method of producing top-fermented yeast. Even as the beer is being drawn, the gourmet senses the wonderful aroma it develops. Left to mature in the storage cellars, LEO WEISSE is bottled in its cloudy, unfiltered state, thus keeping the malt and yeast constituents fine and nourishing.

5 August 2018. At Ammutson, Vienna. Cheers to Anke!
Pours hazy ochre with a lasting, foamy, white head; some lacing. Aroma of banana, bread & butter, honey, flowers & hand soap even, clove, nutmeg, wheat. It tastes medium fruity sweet, hints of banana & bread, buttery too, and light spicy bitter, clove-like, with a wheaty sour back. Dryish, spicy & peppery hoppy finish, a bit yeasty & bready. Medium body, slick/creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Nice one!

500 ml bottle. Pours cloudy dark orange with foamy head. Banana aroma is dominant, some clove, vanilla, yeast. Mild taste. Almost no bitterness, a bit sweet and acidic. Creamy mouthfeel, lively carbonated. Finish a bit weak, but overall good Weißbier.

Bottle at Pivoteka. Murky ochre, huge thick white head, lasting. Aroma... Banana, caramel, light apple/glue. Full, light cloves. Nice, soft caramel and banana driven taste. Sweetish yet carbonated enough not to be cloying. Bit empty finish. Not world class but a very good weizen!

0.5 l bottle from Pivoteka. Retro tasting session by Hrabren’s Choice. Shared with Višnja. Opaque orange, small off-white head. Orange, dust, light banana, fruity. Sweet, light yeasty sourness. Medium body, medium carbonation, abrupt finish. Not unpleasant.

Pours light orange from the bottle and leaves a big, foamy head that subsides but lingers for much of the duration. Aroma is fresh bread, with the banana notes increasingly creeping in as you progress through the glass. Sweet in taste, lots of bread, light banana, no real spice. Faint sourness in an otherwise unremarkable finish. Medium bodied. Lots of fizz. Refreshing. Decent stuff.

Bottle at home. Very hazy golden with fizzy white head that leaves a thick creamy film. Light banana, lots of dough, honey, light spices, mango, grassy, soapy. Medium sweet and very light bitter. Medium bodied with nice creamy feel. Nice stuff, maybe a bit too sweet.

Wygląd: Gęsta drobnopęcherzykowa piana, świetny lacing. Piwo w idealnym kolorze jak na ten styl. Zapach: Banany, delikatny goździk. Smak: Banany i pszenica. Ogólnie: Jeden z lepszych heffeweisen-ów jakie piłem. Piwo bardzo pijalne.
