This is a Canadian twist on a classic Belgian-styled ale. Our blueberry wheat beer is made with a blend of wheat, barley malts and aromatic hops to create a smooth, creamy ale base. We add a huge quantity of blueberries (from the family farm of an employee!) and blueberry pure to the secondary fermentation. This refermentation on the fruit creates a wonderful “berry” coloured beer that is very strongly fruit flavoured but still subtle enough to allow the base notes of the beer to evolve on the palate.

Bottle from the lcbo.
Hazy pink pour, small white head. Aroma of.......faint berries, and seriously nothing else. Good carb and mouthfeel. Flavor is a touch sweet, with a tinge of berry flavor. Good lord this was bland and almost tasteless.

Smells a little like blueberry. Cloudy blond with some head. Sour aftertaste with a little lager like crispness. Pretty random mix that doesn’t work well together. Bottle.

Picked-up in their latest sampler pack. Pours a cloudy grapefruit colour with a creamy white cap that goes down but stays over the brew and the lace is pretty good. Grainy nose with not much fruit. The mouthfeel is kind of creamy. A little more blueberries in the taste but still, very light, with the grain being more dominant. Close to the Ashton Blueberry Wheat I had recently, mild with the blueberry not being overpowering.

A pinkish red amber ale with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, light malt with corn husks, and mineral notes. In mouth, a light sweetish malt with faint fruity esters, a bit of mineral notes, watery. On tap at Mill St. Ottawa, April 30, 2012.
