On tap at Orange & Brew. Huh. Grapefruit was the last thing on my mind when I tried this, perhaps because the beer list just showed this as a shandy. Still: to a hot summer mid-afternoon, when I don't want to slow down just yet, this is the brew to choose. Hazy gold color, a pillowy foam head that goes away quickly,. Smell is citrusy, but more like orange and pineapple. The taste is a nice fizz, probably the closest I came to thinking of grapefruit was that it reminded me of a Squirt soda. More of the orange and pineapple, and an edge of papaya. I guess I didn't think of grapefruit because it did not have the usual grapefruit sourness to it. A thick, juicy mouthfeel that made me look for pulp, but no. Pretty hearty for a beer cut with juice, certain more satisfying than a Summer Shandy.: Sweetness from juice more than malt, just slightly equalized with bitterness.
