Bottle from Marais Salées shop. Dark brown with light tan head. Sweet brown malts, leather dog collar, with some dog on it. Sweet licorice and some hazelnut. Quite sweet and watery and moderate bitter. Medium body, watery and low carbonation. It’s labeled as Double Stout but I’d say it’s not even half a stout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barbe Bleue on 16 Aug 2019 at 22:45 - Score: 5

33 cl. bottle @ Rick. Clear brown with a nice big light beige head. Dark caramel aroma with roasted malts, some hops and indeed maybe some anise seed, although very subtle. Sweet taste and smooth body. Decent.

330ml bottle from a swanky wine shop in Chantilly. Pours extremely dark brown, frothy lasting off-white crown. Aroma has sweet plummy tones. Taste continues the plummy theme with additional chocolate notes, sweet malt. Nice.

Bottle from House of Taste, Luxembourg City. Label is Marshall Rock ’n’ Roll Craft Beer - Dark Ale 7% and looks to be a a rebranding of this beer. Pours dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma of roasted malt, nut, toffee, light chocolate. Medium sweetness, light roasted bitterness. Medium body, rather watery texture. Too carbonated with a fizzy mouthfeel.

Smaak ebt snel weg.

Dark beer with a thin head and a smell of chocolate, fruit and malt. Flavour follows suit with the fruit coming through quite strong. Body is a touch watery but it’s very drinkable.
