Huge thanks to quack-duck for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, nice head. Nice roasty stouty aroma. Starts fine malty, roasty, some lacto notes, more and more fresh hoppy, herbal background. Finish well balanced, roasty malty, some liquorice hints. Dry and bitter background. Really interesting!

And the next 0,75 l bottle from Erzengel. Thanks a lot! A darkest brown in the glass with a more than two finger beige stable head. Intensive citrus licorice salmiak smell. Taste starts with a strong hop bitterness, a lot of licorice, citrus and pine with a shy malty background. Roasty. Not as creamy as expected. More like a Black IPA than a typical Stout.

75cl swing top bottle. Thanks to Erzengel for sharing! A very dark brown beer with a creamy beige head. Aroma of mild roasted dark malt, chocolate and bitter hops. Taste of bitter hops, pine needles, roasted malt, coffee. Nice!

75cl bottle from the brewery. Deep roasted caramelly nose. The beer starts mild and dry, slightly grainy with lots of fruity floral hops. Very dry, easy to drink with roasted coffee and fruity sourish parts. Fantastic balanced, bitter dry roasted in the aftertaste, great stuff!

Bottle, danke Günther! Dark chestnut, golden brown fluffy cream. Blackberry and roast aroma. Medium body, dry foamy, blackberry, rosehips and fruity coffee notes, earthy salts, pleasant roast leading into a broad aromatic hop backstop. On the edge of a black IPA of course, but with a more solid body and a perfect balance.

Weicher, dunkel hopfiger Beginn. Super! 12/12/14/14/11/14

0.75 l bottle from 'Bergmann Stehbierhalle', best before 2021. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, quite fruity-resiny and a little roasty aroma of blueberry, tropical fruits and a touch of dark chocolate. Quite sweet, malty, gently roasty, moderately fruity-resiny taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some hazelnut, some blueberry and a touch of tropical fruits, followed by a medium long, quite roasty-bitter, earthy finish. Medium to full body, smooth and creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really nice beer, great mouthfeel and very tasty, maybe somewhere between a Stout and a BIPA.

Tap: As black as a coal-mine, lacy medium-sized tanned head, moderate dry roasty and caramelly nose with leafy-earthy hops; nearly solid bitter-sweet flavour, but quite light bodied for a beer of 6.7%; dry and lingering bitter-roasty finish with a shy fruitiness and returning leafy-earthy hops. Good stuff! Business as usual with DBB: the stronger, the better…
