Malted barley, oats. The equivalent to Table Beer in our range of stouts and porters. Not brewed to 'dry stout'-style, per se, but a stout that is dry. Light-bodied but not thin, with more prominent kettle-hopping and then dry-hopping to add some brightness and contrast to the roasty, biscuity, and savoury character of the dark malts.

Opaque dark brown beer, good size tan head. Airy palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin dark malts but bringing a reasonable amount of dark malt richness delivered via mild roast, modest dark chocolate and a smoothing dark malt cream. I wasn't convinced the Taiheke Wakatu hopped version was delivering much core hop character but this version is impressively different with the Wai It and Motueka bring a light but fairly bright floral lime and much milder tangerine. Light finish. Just a vague chocolate lime candy vibe on this one. Very drinkable.

Bottle. Probably from Beer Stop, Dronfield. Mostly clear, very dark brown. Very decent Kernel swede. Nose has cocoa powder. Chocolate peanuts. Bright citrus hop notes. Hint of earthy coffee bean. Taste has a fruity chocolate sweetness, with earthy, powdery and ashy dryness. Smooth mouthfeel with moderate bitterness to finish. Like a baby BIPA. Nice one.

330ml bottle. Near jet black, tanned creamy head with superb retention and lacing. Inviting aroma of roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, all the classic notes but fresh on the nose. Its dry but smooth, roasty, coffee beans, chocolate with some creaminess. Moderate bitterness. Excellent.
