Can. Color: In between ruby and copper, very thin beige head. Aroma: Sweetish, caramel, dark dried fruit, vanilla. Taste: Dark dried fruit, vanilla, Bourbon, boozy, caramel, fudge. Medium to over medium sweet, light to moderate bitterness. Sugary hints. Some oak wood, hints of tannins. Pretty dense mouthfeel. Full body, low carbonation. Nicely balanced barrel ageing. I almost dropped out of Kees' barrel project beers, but this is a very nice one once again.

0.33 l can from 'Speciaalbierpakket.nl'. Almost clear, deep ruby with a few beige bubbles on top of it. Sweetish, malty, slightly fruity aroma of molasses, raisins, figs, bourbon and some vanilla. Fairly sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity taste of molasses, raisins, figs, bourbon and some vanilla, followed by a long, gently bitter, warming, slightly boozy and minimally woody finish. Medium to full body, smooth and almost oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely Barley Wine with very pleasant bourbon flavours. Not overly complex but very well-balanced despite its intensity.
