750 ml corked bottle. 2011 vintage, 11% ABV. Deep golden body with a big white head that disappears quite fast. A really nice and balanced aroma of matured apples and apple core with just a faint hint of farmhouse. Flavor is apple fruity, mild acidity and some alcohol. Smooth and nice flavor with more elegance than farmhouse, still not slick. Medium to medium plus body, fruity aftertaste. I definitively enjoyed this one.

Bottle @ home. Random mini cider tasting. Clear copper orange appearance with no head. Tangy, dry apple, a bit spicy, a touch musty, rich apple aroma. Burnt apple, somewhat toasty, a little woody, fairly bitter flavor with a dry, bitter finish. I think it’s the roasty darkness of this one that I really didn’t enjoy.

Pours hazy dark golden color with white head. Musty apple aroma. Semi sweet apple flavor with a musty cellar tase. Light to medium body with effevescent carbonation and a dry finish. Not as good as their regular cider.

Bottle shared by JK, thanks! Pours a clear gold with a bubbly white head that dissipates nearly completely. Aroma has rich slightly tart and sweet apple note with a hint of funk. Flavor has deep slightly tart and dry apple with a light leafy funk underlying.

4oz pour at Max’s Rare and Obscure Beer Week Part 4. Pours a bright orange with zero head. Big, fruity nose, apples, a little caramel, honey. Flavor is similar, some butterscotch, honey, apples, caramel, sweet, lightly tart, some candy. Full bodied, buttery finish. Very enjoyable.

2009 bottle. The cork becomes a mortar round once the cage is removed. Massive gusher after the cork selfcombusts. Pours with a large head that fades to a ring over a notably dark (for a cider) sunset orange hue. A few yeast particles at first, many in later pours (obviously upset from the bottom by the onslaught of carbonation). Huge alcohol legs are left on the side of the glass. Aroma is rich, lots of alcohol, very caramelized, some brandy, oak, bandaid/phenolics, buttery oak, cobwebs. Very perfumey and floral. I can believe that they naturally got this much sugar out of the apples; candi sugar perhaps? Flavors are super dry compared to the nose, some funk. Definitely no where as rich as the aroma suggests. Cork and a bit of white wine grapes. Super (over) carbonated. But still light bodied, if not thin. Alcoholic. Interesting attempt at a Normandie Uber Cider. Not as good (nor as balanced) as some of their other offerings.

Aroma is moderate to light heavy apple, dry apple, red apple, wood, apple peel - skin, barnyard notes, light to moderate alcohol. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet, light to moderate acidic and bitter with a long duration, wood, dry apple, apple peel - skin, dry. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is flat, finish feel is light alcoholic. [20100831]
