A light blonde lager with a thin white head. In aroma, light skunked malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, bad. In mouth, a light adjunct corn malt with light grassy German hops, typical south American beer, does the job. 620ml Bottle at a Cochabamba restaurant.

Can 33cl: golden beer with a white head that soon dissapears. Weak aroma and taste, perhaps something like corn. A perfect beverage with gas to drink in a hot day, no more...

Labeled Taquina Export Beer:
Crystal clear golden coloured body with a smallish white head. Aroma of pale malt, light hops, caster sugar, corn and some light citrus. Medium-bodied; Sharp taste of oranges and lemons up front with peaches, malt, sugar and wheat behind. Aftertaste shows the freshness of a light lager, but the flavours of a nice ale. More taste (and good ones too) than one might expect from this beer - but very good too! Overall, very thrilled to be trying this beer, brought back by my friend Jon[R888710], before actually heading down to Bolivia. Pleasantly suprised by the first Bolivian, hopefully the trend continues! I sampled this 350 mL can purchased in Bolivia, brought back to the United States on 15 July 2006, drunk on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.
Update: After being in Bolivia, this beer somehow got a little worse - so be prepared to have it start out great, then finish as ’just another beer’. You’ll be able to find this everywhere around Cochabamba, but in Santa Cruz, La Paz and a few other places, you should still be able to get Taquina if desired. The label shows the highest peak around Cochabamba, Cerro Tunari - snowcapped in all it’s Andes glory!
