This big-bird-couloured-blue-bastard is our IIPA. This beer will rock and F*ck up your taste buds for sure. A double IPA as a double IPA should be. A full bodied palate wrecker of a hop bomb. We dry hop this bad-boy in every tank to get all those tropical, fruity, piney and citrusy aromas and flavors in there. For this mofo we use 8 different American hop varieties! And it’s the beer with the most hops in it and for that reason no beer to put away. IPA means drink fresh! Obviously unfiltered and unpasteurized.

On tap @ In De Wildeman. Copper/amber color, a bit hazy. Off white head, uneven. Aroma’s: pine needles, resin, citrus, sour fruit. All these recede quickly to make way for more malty sweetness, caramel. Flavor is rather bitter at first with some caramel sweetness, but here also the bitterness quickly makes way for more sweetness with just a light bitterness. Medium bodied. Quite soft carbonation. Finishes with caramel, quite dry, just lightly bitter. I expected a bit more of a hop punch.

Bottled @ Rootz, BB Feb 2015, large sample. Slight hazy amber color, short frothy off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, hint of raisin, quite some citrussy hop, grapefruit, hint of pine. Medium bitter in taste, bit caramelly malt. Good balance. I expect it to be bottled in Feb 2013, so it might be a year old bottle. Id like to try a fresh one, it probably lets the aroma hops shine more. Still a very decent beer, from a more than decent brewer (understatement!).

Great aroma of pure hops, tastes like that as well, indeed massively hopped. Yet fruity, with a smooth malty body. Great beer.

BOTTLE 33CL from dEnk. Thanks, Colin.
Look: rich amber-red and hazy with yeast sediment.
Aroma: hoppy but with a solid malt backbone, the hops is not very citric, piney and also a bit herbal, catty?
Taste: serious maltiness, balanced by hops, moderate bitterness.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is rich malty hop. The flavour is strong bitter with an alcoholic liqourice slightly fruity palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a long, very pleasant, bitter finish. A superb DIPA and one of the the best i’ve ever tasted from the Netherlands.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Slightly hazy copper amber colour, dense off-white head. Aroma of fruity and resinous hops, citrus, hint of toasted malts, malt and liquid caramel sweetness. Flavour is medium-sweet, malty, thick, syrupy, caramel, plenty of citrus and sweet fruits, resin, hint of pine, good bitter finish, but never over the top. Fullbodied, slick, good DIPA imho, not too aggressive or pine-forward, nice and fruity.

330ml bottle. Slightly cloudy, dark copper colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, beige-ish off-white head. Sightly sweaty, resinous and piney, citrusy hop aroma has hints of passion fruit, grapefruit, mango, peach, a touch of purulence. Taste is moderately sweet caramel malty, bitter hoppy with a mineral touch, notes of tropical fruit, almond; sweaty character.
