Stout version of Gulden Draak Classic, since 2018.

-Kleur: donker, zwart
-Alcoholvolume: 12% – 25° Plato
-Aroma: banaan, chocolade
-Smaak: koffie, licht gebrande moutsmaak
-Ideale schenktemperatuur: tussen 8° en 12° Celsius

33cl bottle from hopt.it, France. Pours dark brown, reddish, with fine brown foam. Aroma is alcoholic, phenolic, chocolate, nutty. Body is partially dense, with soft carbonation. Taste is medium-high sweet, a little roasty. Final is smooth, with some more sweetness.

Thuis uit een flesje. Heel donkerbruin, beige schuim. Caramel in het aroma. Bij de eerste slok moet ik meer aan een stevige dubbel denken, dan aan een imperial stout. Volle smaak, caramel, heel licht wat bitterheid. Stevige alcohol nasmaak.

Bottle pour from Total Wine & More, Burlington. It's a hazy dark brown (cola) with nice sparkle, finger-plus width beige foamy head with good retention and nice soapy lacing. Aroma is strong earthy malts, toffee and dark fruit. Taste is dark fruit and toffee. Mouthfeel is light side of light-to-medium bodied with smooth, frothy texture, no sign of alcohol, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, above average all around.

33 cl bottle from Labirratorium, shared with my old man for my birthday, 2021. A shiny pitch-black pour beneath a thick, rocky and ever-lasting beige head. Aroma intensity is medium to high, displaying mulberries, blackberries, bilberries... alongside licorice, caramel, gravy... This one has a complex and very pleasant nose. Taste is slightly sweet, crisp and umami, with a velvety and meaty texture. Finish is very bitter and long-lasting, all very well balanced thanks to that great acidity. A great one.

Bottle, 0.33l. Murky brown pour, two finger creamy beige head. Long lasting, very good head retention, thick lacing on the glass as it goes down. Sweet on the nose, caramel, fruity and floral notes. Hints of cherries in the background, quite interesting. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel and texture, chewy, creamy, soft on the palate. Boozy bittersweet taste. Interesting aroma, strong fruity notes, not very stout-like... But I kinda expected that. Caramel, figs and cherries. Molasses, licorice, candy. Hints of chocolate, subtle lingering spiciness. Warming alcohol. Ling lasting finish, sweet, dry and boozy, cherry aftertaste. Quite tasty but probably not for everyone.

Almost black with a large fluffy brown head. Sweet with cherry, raisin, fig, malt, bread, licorice and some booziness. Long finish. Medium body. Not stout like at all but pretty tasty.
