Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from an online shop I think, maybe a trade. Pours oily black with a modest, bubbly tan head that quickly settles into a small creamy topping. Fairly sweet, loads of meaty dark malts, burnt sugar, chocolate, roast, nips of raisin, prune, toasted wood. Full bodied, oily and lightly chewy, with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, warming, some sticky dark malts, a little bourbon, ash, earth, gooey chocolate, more rich malts. Delicious.

375ml Bottle SophiesBeerStore.co.uk. Pitch black appearance, thick deep brown head. Aroma presents deep layered dark malt, rich chocolate. Taste continues along similar lines, slick, oily and palate-coating with additional soft roast and dark fruity moments. Excellent stout.

Bottle from Hoptimism. Jet black with a thin tan head. Aroma chocolate, toffee, liquorice and dried fruit. Hints of oak. taste roasted and toffee bitter with a slight dried fruit sweetness. Full smooth body.
