On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark brown to ruby colour, beige head. Aroma of butterscotch, caramel and biscuits. The flavour is not too sweet, but has also notes of caramel, butterscotch and brown bread. Decent enough to drink, but does not stand out from the crowd.

On tap at Grünerløkka Brygghus. Pours more black than brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel with some hops and spices. Sweet and malty with a slightly dry and bitter finish. Quite well balanced. Nice and a bit different Brown Ale with lots of malt, reminds me a bit of vørterøl/Malzbier, but with hops and bitterness.

330ml from keg at Håndverkerstuene. Good looking in the snifter glass with a decent beige head covering a dark ruby coloured body. Fine aroma of brittle-like caramel malts. Semi-sweet, brittle caramel taste joined by nuts, followed by a discreet dry bitter ending. Likable expression of the style (Oslo, 28.02.2012).

On tap at Patricks. A dense, beige head of finger-thick size forms over a very dark brown body with a reddish hue. Perfect lacings left. The aroma is of the roasted kind, with some vegetal-like notes. Not dms though. Some fruityness too. It’s medium to full bodied, soft on carbonation, and with a nice roasted kind of bitterness. Chocolate and a light touch of orange too. Lasting roasted finish. A quite nice one, but I’d like more punch in the aroma. 120301

On tap @ Patricks. Dark, very dark, extremely dark brown body with a big, foamy light beige head. Aroma of dark, mild roasted malt, chocolate and bread. Flavor is smooth, roasted malt, chocolate, dry fruit with hint of bread/baking yeast. Bitterness feels balanced. Medium body and aftertaste. A nice and smooth brown ale closer to a stout. A pleasant and tasty session ale in the lower ABV segment. Not super complex and a bit thin in body and feel a bit to fresh right now, but nice enough to be repeated every now and then.
