Bottle from Lekkerbier, Sint Nicolaasga. Aroma is heavy on the cognac with dried fruits, plenty of wood, red grapes, dark malt, caramel, more oak. Flavour is medium sweet with a light bitterness. Touch of alcohol. Body is medium. The cognac barrel comes out nicely here.

Rating the 5th Horseman at 12% as Series 13 vintage 2018 330 ml bottle Pours a very dark brown with light head. Aromas of oaky cognac, sweet caramel, raisins and bready malts. Flavours of dry oaky cognac, bread crusts, raisins, a little figs and nice toasty caramel malts. I am getting to be a fan of barrel aged Old Ales

Hm.. heard a lot of good things about this BA series lately, and whilst it's very good and tasty, especially for Dutch beers, it's not fantastic. That said: a real tasty beer. Smooth, OK body, bitter, gentle and sweet. Could do with more cognac.
