Bird Brewery vliegt in 2018 het hele land door en brouwt in iedere provincie met één van de smaakmakers. In Drenthe brouwt het samen met Jonge Beer. Deze ambachtelijke brouwerij kreeg landelijke bekendheid door het brouwen van een katervrij bier.

Fris, zomers en donker? Deze Summer Brown heeft het allemaal! De mix van aardse tonen uit de mout en heerlijke fruitigheid uit de verse hoppen maken het tot een bijzondere dorstlesser. Kakelvers en kiplekker!

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is is een licht bruin tot amberkleurig bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat hoppige geur. De smaak is moutig, caramel achtig en nootachtige.

Bottle @ home. Light amber colour with a small to medium sized white to offwhite head. Smells sweet, some caramel, nice malts, coffee. Tastes coffee, caramel, malty, sweet, koetjesreep, koffiekoekjes. Thin to medium body, soft carbo. I really like the caramel/coffee taste.

0.33 l bottle from 'Het Biermoment', best before August 2019. Slightly hazy, dark brownish amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, off-white head. Sweetish, malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, nuts, some tropical fruits and traces of pine. Quite sweet, malty, minimally roasty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, nuts and some tropical fruits, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little roasty and bit resiny finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, a little dull.

Bottle at home. Slightly unclear amberish with white head. Sweet malts, very rich nutty aromas, hazlenutcream, peanutbutter, chestnut, some light grassy and citrus fruitiness. Moderate sweet and quite dry and nutty bitter, which brings some umami taste as well. Medium body and quite some carbonation. Pretty dry feel. Indeed a light and thirstquenching summery brown ale. Another very easy drinking duck in the Bird pond.
