Pours a still murky brown with no foam, no lacing.
Smell is sweet caramel malt, dark pitted fruit, leather, obvious oxidation with a Port like aroma.
The taste is caramel malt, dark fruits, leather, Port like flavour, oxidation is obvious but not being criminal. I get some toffee as well. Alcohol is definitely there. Noticeable presence of Whiskey.
Mouthfeel is good despite the lack of carbonation.

Bottiglia n. 13445. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco. L'intensità olfattiva è molto elevata e la maniera in cui permane è considerevole. Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma evanescente. La grandezza delle bollicine è a grana media. Il colore è ambrato carico tendente rossiccio. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è medio. La forza gustativa è elevata e la durata è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di caramello, miele, crosta di panettone, frutta secca, agrumi, spezie, frutta passita, mandorla fresca, whisky, cuoio, prugna, rabarbaro, vino rosso, chiodi di garofano, mais cotto e vaniglia. Alcol invadente.

(Bottle) Hazy brown colour with brief, foamy head. Malty, vinous nose with dried fruit, raisins, prunes, brown bread, caramel, oak wood and a touch of whisky. Malty, vinous taste with notes of dried fruit, chocolate, raisins, prunes, figs, fruit cake, caramel, oak wood and a warming touch of whisky in a finish with a mild spicy bitterness. Full body, quite sweet. Rich, warming and slightly boozy, with a mild wood character and lots of dried fruit. Very nice.

Bottled 250ml. -from Goblet Zagreb, shared with hrabren. Bottle No.16971 Brown coloured, minimal off-white head that went away fast, caramel and alcohol in the nose. Sweet malty, alcohol, caramel, notes of barrel and heavy dried fruits with mild touch of oxidation. Sweet boozy finish.

0.25 l bottle thanks to Ogi, shared with him. Dark amber to brown. Aroma is caramel, dried fruit, dates and raisins, alcohol quite aggressive. Oak present. Some dried orange peel. Honey. Molasses. Slightly oily. Some tartness, some sweetness. Dried fruit and cookie dough flavour. Alcohol hidden. Light sweet finish.

275ml bottle (#24658). Not much of a pssst on opening. It pours deep - reddish brown with only a vague hint of a head. The aroma is rich and oily, earthy, booze soaked oak, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, date, figgy pudding, fruit cake, more brandy than whisky really and a touch of vanilla. The taste is drying and toothy initially, big hit of whisky, fruit & nut chocolate bar, plenty of dried fruit, fig, date, prune, boozy kick, spice, oaky tannins, slick and oily, fruit cake, black bun, plum wine and slightly burnt toasted malts with a drying, booze soaked finish. Fulsome body, low carbonation and oily mouth feel. Lacks a bit of condition, which is a shame. Enjoyable nonetheless. Grows on you.
