This barley wine is a blend of multiple batches of beer, which were aged in different spirits oak barrels. Its complex aroma and taste of oak, dark and sweet caramel, vanilla, coconut, cacao, roast, dark fruits and berries is a product of a complex brewing combined with the long maturation time and in the end of time spent in oak barrels. It will cellar very well, but do not go into decades of ageing..It is a sipper and perfect to share on a special occasion.

Draught @ Planet Oedipus. Almost black color. Beige head with little retention. Aroma's: fruity, alcoholic/whisk(e)y, sweetish. Retronasal: sweet, alcoholic, toffee, fruity. Flavor: above moderate sweet, alcoholic/fruity. Above medium bodied. Long finish, with suddenly coconut, some alcohol and sweetness.

0,33l bottle at home shared by me. black color, small coffee colored head. smells earthy, some licorice, cocoa, some wood, bourbon, marzipan, peppery, spices. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of marzipan, coconut, earthy, spices, bourbon, light vanilla, peppery, light wood. finishes lightly sweet with notes of marzipan, coconut and bourbon notes. very nice one, very very smooth.

Bottle, many thanks herrklemann! Dark brown color with beige head. Aroma is caramel, yeasty, a bit figs, touch of hoppy. Taste is yeast, caramel, raisins, a bit vanilla. Thick silky mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very balanced, very good!

Sampled from tap at CBF Vienna 2018. Clear, very dark ruby with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes, red grapes and some vanilla. Quite sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of dark cherries, prunes, molasses, red grapes and caramel, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly vinous and a bit warming finish. Full body, oily mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Lovely!

Tap at Craft Bier Fest Wien. One of the beers it is hard to talk about. Infinite complexity with countless intense components. Chocolate, cocoa, rum, warmth, dried fruits, prune. Rewarding sipper. Full body, low carbonation. Just fucking great.
