A highly refreshing strong ruby beer. Made with British hops, large doses of pilgrim and brambling cross produce strong punchy aromas, smoothed over with a tongue tingling bitterness.

Cask @ Pilcrow, Manchester. Dark amber-red with a head. Decent traditional English red ale with strength not too much of a factor.

1/12/2019. Cask, sample, courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours mid-brown with a red/amber tint and a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of toffee, malt, dark fruit, chocolate, touch of berry and hint of spice. Medium sweetness, moderate roasted bitterness, and a slight tart edge. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Earthy, bitter finish. Quite liked this.

Cask at Redhouse, Newcastle. Clear red-brown colour, tan foam head leaving lacing and malty, tangy aroma. Taste is malty, fruity & roasty, with alittle chocolate and tart sourish earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite drinkable
