Our Whisky Barrel Aged Dorset craft cider is made from the same traditional bittersweet and bittersharp cider apples as Milo’s Magic, but combined in a slightly different blend. It is a still cider that is available in 500ml bottles.

It was carefully aged in whisky barrels for 3 months and is a smooth, dry cider with a subtle but distinctive whisky finish. This cider is extremely popular!

Bottle from Scrattings. Light misty gold, still. Aroma of caramelised apples, wood, hint of whisky. Taste of whisky barrel is more prominent in taste but not over powering. However the bittersweet apple is also a bit mellow and it would have been nice to have a sharper contrast. Nice boozy finish though to warm the innards.

500ml bottle, shared with Soph along the river. Pours a clear deep gold. Soft whisky on the nose, caramelised apple fruit. Continues to taste, quite a mild whisky Influence thankfully, nicely dry with grippy tannin on the close. Good stuff.

3/9/2020. Sample courtesy of danlo, cheers Ed! Pours clear copper gold with minimal head. Aroma of sweet apple, toffee, light wood and a little whiskey. Medium sweetness and light tartness, with a slight harsh backdrop. Surprisingly watery, with a light dry finish. Ok but not especially keen.

Bottle from Scrattings. It pours clear rich amber with no head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, earth, apple skin, damp leaves, dried apple, tang, baked goods, apple pie, fruit cake, light citric tang and hot toddy with a slice of lemon. The taste is firmly dry upfront, earthy, toothy, big oak character, tannin, soft apple, leather, spice, light warmth, hot toddy, hint of vanilla, black tea and chai latte with a very drying, oaky finish. Medium body and still. An interesting cider for sure. A bit too dry and oaked for one to consume many, but perhaps that's a good thing?
