Can. An unclear dark brown to black beer with a small beige head. It's sweetish on the nose, with dark chocolate, alcohol, some licorice hints and brown sugar. It's full-bodied and lightly warming, with a gentle carbonation. Lightly boozy. Roasted malt, toffee, dark chocolate, toffee, booze and a hint of licorice in the flavor. Lasting finish. A quite pleasant one, not very christmasy, but nice. 240525

33cl can. Poured dark brown in color, quite high carbonation for the style. Notes of vegetables in aroma, kumquat like. Some milky smoothness, vanilla and roastedness later. Warming.

Can. Pitch black body under a big, quick fading beige head. Surprisingly mild in aroma, some mild roasted dark malt, grass and a hint of vegetables (not in a bad way). Taste is sweet, dark malt, lactose, balanced bitterness and quite boozy. Fine body with a long lasting aftertaste that becomes to lactose sweet and boozy. Frankly not too impressed, it’s a big beer for sure but rather one dimensional on the sweetness and booze. Perhaps it did not take the cellaring to well?

Think I opened this one a couple of years to early Not bad. But was raw and sharp Black as the deepest dungeon in the glass and a fine beige head Ok intensity in the aroma Balanced sweetness for a beer like this and a smooth carbonation level Dark malt, some roast, herbal, some chocolate and licorice in the flavor [Can from Vinmonopolet in Halden, Norway]

330ml can from Vinmonopolet Langnes. Pours a two-finger thick tan-coloured head leaving crocheted lacing on the glass. Jet black body. Sediments to the last pour. Promising smell of rather sweet chocolate joined by scents of liquorice. Roasted grainy chocolate flavours added by sweet liquorice. Lingering roasted aftertaste. Fine depth. Does not taste that strong. Nice Yuletide beer, just a little too sweet in the long run. (Tromsø 02.12.2020).

Fairly thick, a bit oily. Licorice root, some roastiness, dark sourdough bread. A bit sweet but a dry finish. Nice.
