Pours a light semi-clear brown with a dense slightly off-white head, that shows very good retention and lacing. Quite subdued aroma shows caramel and dark bread with a light smoky note (ashes like, probably not much else). Taste follows the aroma, again with not too much intensity. Medium to high sweetness, medium to low bitterness, balanced enough semi-sweet finish, with a bit of a sticky feel in the last sips. Light to medium in body with light to medium carbonation; quite smooth, easy mouthfeel. Nothing worth noticing here, still very much acceptable, but a far from brilliant example of the style.

Bottle. Pours foggy chestnut brown. Two finger tall off- white head. Average lacing. Aroma: smoked, caramel malts, dried fruit. Light plus body. Taste: malty, smoked, cheesy, low to light bitterness. Pleasant one.

Bottle at puttetjes. Clear dark brown with white head. Sweet malts, caramel, rauchmalz, leathery, bready, roasted chestnuts. Over medium sweet and moderate bitter. Sprankelend fris water als in een kabbelend bergbeekje, een hele lekkere zachte maltcake, met een pikant sausje van gesmolten boomstam vol met hars. Het was weer fijn.
