Clear deep purplish brown beer, practically no head. Aroma: cinnamon, some tonka, vanilla, dried fruits, soft roast, more tonka, caramel, some chocolate. MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: very spicy, lots of tonka beans, gingerbread, spices, cinnamon, a bit sweet, caramel notes, a nice roast, a little oxidized, very nice! Aftertaste: more oxidation, caramel, bourbon, vanilla, some cardamom, some chocolate, a bit hoppy, slightly bitter, gingerbread, tonka, cinnamon, alcohol, more oxidative notes, nice one!

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 08/07/24 Lighter shade of black veering to extremely dark mahogany brown topped with a khaki cap that soon escapes edgewards. Nose is tangy dried fruit rinds, earthy, dates, tobacco, soy sauce, cocoa powder, mellow barrel. Taste comprises fruit cake mix, figs, molasses, toasted brown sugars, spice, toffee, cocoa sprinkle, ripe bourbon. Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a kiss of alcohol. Tidy enough complex sipper if a touch overly tangy.

Near clear deep amber brown beer, good pale tan head that doesn't last. Nose of toffee and bourbon soaked fruits. Smooth palate, a very light viscosity, overall this is not a heavy beer in any way, palate wise. Rich caramel toffee malts, a decent malt creamy sweetness. Rich bourbon soaked ripe fruits with a smooth but strong cinnamon element. The cinnamon is not dry or bitter but is fairly dominant. A decent barleywine, if slightly one note.

Tap at Goblet ZG, 2021 version, huge thanks Mak! Murky brown body, no head. Dusty aroma, caramel, raisins/dried fruit. Fine, but not thrilling. Lean, dry taste, tart, lovely caramel/raisin notes backed well by the bourbon barrel coconut touches. The alcohol was also quite well hidden, and it was pretty drinkable. Didn't wow me, the tartness, though it did help drinkability did put me off slightly from it, but I can really respect this. Wonder how it was more fresh...
