Third by cask, 4.3 % abv, at GBBF Winter 2020, second day, Elgar Bar. Shared with Finn. Black in the glass with a ruby glint. Spotty lacing, low beige head. Dried fruity nose, hints of spices. Spiced malty flavours added by ripe lemon. Malt-bitter endnotes. Fair enough. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).

Cask at the Crosse Keys, JDW, London. Pours clear, golden-brown with a weak, white cream head. Lots of spicy ginger in the aroma. Light sweet flavor with more ginger, light toast and light leaves. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish with yet more ginger, light smoke (odd...), faint fruits and mild leafy bitterness. Weird beer, but some of it works.

On tap at Crosse Keys Spoons. Clear amber beer, tiny white head. Well balanced. Mild dark toffee malt. Hops are also mild but with an unusual lemon tang. Semi dry finish. Allright.

Cask handpull at The Eight Bells, Dover, JDW. 4.9% as Shiver M’ Timbers. Very dark brown, thin beige head. Not a great beer, bit of rubber in the mouth. Some vague darkish malts, but this is more or less rubbery rubbish. Not much hop presence at all, bit of sting on finish. Not great and I couldn’t finish a half.

Cask Conditioned at The Bree Louise, London, 4.9% ABV
Amber color; thin foam. Medium aroma, stronger flavor: sweetish caramel and good toffee, mostly, with some more chocolate at the end. Good and with a bit of originality.
