Nice foggy brown, some head, but rather thin and dies down pretty fast. Not much on the nose, maybe some nuts and malts. The taste is interesting - a soft barley-thing is going on here, some caramel and cardboard. Then hops on the back end. Unique and likeable.

Medium to dark brown with a strong reddish tint to it. Ok head, but it is vanishing quickly. Strong aroma of wheat malt and yeast, Fruity and spicy, banana, nuts, cloves. A touch of barnyard earthiness as well, but not like a biere de garde. Strong roasted wheat and buckwheat malt flavor, very grainy, very nutty, a touch sweet with caramel, although quite dry. Very little barnyard earthiness, It is more of an autumn nuttiness. Good body and balance as well. Very nice. Finish of roasted malts, a touch sour as well as sweet, not much hops, but lasting a bit. I like it a lot.

Bottled. Hazy mid brown, average sized head. Fruity roasty nose. Sweet with caramelly malt covered in dust. Medium bodied with straightforward malt character and low bitterness. A bit lifeless.

33cl bottle from a six-pack of Breton beers at Carrefour. A slightly hazy red chestnut colour with a small white head; full fruity flavour, with a biscuit aftertaste that doesn’t really develop. Disappointing.

Bottle, picked up at the Dodgy Deli’, Cowley Rd, Oxford, 15-09-06. Brown colour with not much head, fruity aroma, some malts and fruit in the taste but overall I was a bit disappointed.

33cl bottle from Carrefour, Calais. Ooops I did not like this, unlike most of the other ratings. Reddish brown colour which is hazy. Pours with no head. Red berry flavours and a bit of herb. Bit sour and woody in mouth, sour berry finish with drying hop too. However the combined flavours are a bit nasty. 1.9/5 Woody malty red fruit. But ok. Not much hop. It’s fine. Drinkable enough.
