Dark nutty color with an off white head. Some lacing. Decent intensity in the aroma. Full body and a soft to average carbonation level. Decent sweetness for a beer at this alcohol level. Dried fruits, toffee, some spices, mild yeast and bready.

Bottle at Sandar. It’s an unclear dark amber to brown colored beer with a dense beige head of moderate size. Lacing. The aroma is quite fruity, dark dried fruits mostly, but also some badges apples. Caramel notes, some notes of nuts and dark bread crusts. The flavor is pretty much the same, with more focus on the bitterness and dark sugars. Full body, nice carbonation, far from dry. Lasting finish with toffee, dark bread, prunes, dark sugar and a nice bitterness. It lacks some on complexity, but it’s sure a lovely one. Ole Richard, I guess you’ve been looking to La Trappe when brewing this one. 161028

On tap at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Dark brown colour, no head. Aroma of malts, caramel, brown kandij sugar and mild spices. Very moderate carbonation. Medium sweet flavour, with the same elements as in the aroma. A slight fruitiness makes the beer very drinkable for its strength.

Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly dry mineraly, yeast, bubblegum, hay, grass, broth, dark malts, candi sugar, minerals, weeds, dried fruits, grain, almonds. Taste is slightly sour-ish dry, weeds, yeast, bark, dark malts, minerals, broth, candi sugar, paper, paint, sour-ish burnt coffee, almond essence. Medium to longlasting bitterness, dry harsh mouthfeel. Not my cup of tea.
