Bottle. It pours a huge stayer of a head, light beige in color and mostly quite bubbly. Lots of bubbles in the beer as well, and a semi-clear dark reddish brown color. The aroma is quite spiced, with a light yeasty touch. Dried fruits, caramel and a roasted maltyness too. It smells like cloves I think, tastes like so too, but according to the label the only spice added is cinnamon, which there are just hints of. The beer is quite effervescent, medium bodied and quite dry on the palate. A decent bitterness deals with the little sweetness present, else it's bread crust, dark dried fruits, dark chocolate, a spiced hint and some roasted malts. Caramel notes towards the finish, which is quite long. A decent beer with way too much carbonation, which I suspect is due to unfinished fermentation in the tank. 180226

Shared bottle at yule beer tasting on board Fridtjofen 08.12.17 and 09.12.17. Dark mahogany. Large and foamy beige head and lacing. Dried berries, pine, pineapple and apricot in aroma. Refreshing taste of citrus, pineapple, passion fruit, pine and dried berries, well balanced by medium roasted malt. Fizzy mouthfeel. Dry.

330ml bottle from Gulating Ølutsalg, Tromsø. Foamy off-white head slowly diminishing over a deep rosewood coloured body. Spotty lacing. Moderate smell of earthy malts with hints of pine. Malt-driven taste of cocoa added by cinnamon and berries. A nice bitter touch to the ending. Soft in the mouth. Decent Yuletide beer. (Tromsø 21.12.2017). 330ml bottle from Gulating Ølutsalg, Tromsø. Dissipating off-white head, spotty lacing to the glassware, opaque dark brown body. Moderate smell of chocolate malts. Mixed taste of cocoa and cinnamon, hints of coffee, slightly ashy palate. Roasted malty endnotes. Easy to drink. Fair enough. (Tromsø 22.12.2018).

Bottle from MENY. Clear brownish amber body with a big, creamy off-white head. Aroma has malt with some chocolate and hint of Christmas spices. Flavor is medium sweet, malt, some chocolate, hint of chinnamon and moderate bitterness. Medium body and pleasant aftertaste. Nothing complicate going on here, but it’s sure a decent brew and rather pleasant to drink. Most of the regular standard caramel flavor from these kind of beers is replaced with a mild chocolate flavor.

Flaske 330ml fra Eurospar Tomasjord. Dyp rødbrun. Middels høyt kremaktig skum. Aroma av nøtter & bær. Smaken drukner i kullsya men en kan ane litt mandler & sherry.
