Old notes from 2016 - Bottle from Fuerteventura, pours a very dark brown colour with beige head. Aromas of roasted malt & caramel. Tastes of roasted malt as well as caramel, vanilla, toffee & chocolate. Aftertaste has a roasted malt caramel alcoholic mix. Passable.

330ml bottle. Another Spanish beer that isn’t actually made in Spain. Pours cloudy black with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma is caramel, faint roasted malts. Taste is heavy sweet, caramel, malt. Nothing special, but the alcohol is very well hidden.

Steinburg Negra Dark. Bottle at the holiday villa, Abades, Tenerife. Coca cola brown with offwhite head. Sweet roasted chocolate malts and some leaf bitter. Over medium sweet and moderate bitter. Medium body, frothy creamy feel and soft carbonation. Tastes mostly like roasted sugar crystals. Not sure what this is supposed to be. At first I was happy to finally taste something stout-ish, but with the tooth aching sweetness there is no way in hell I’m going to finish a bottle of this. Quite disgusted after a few more sips. Drain pour. --- Beer merged from original tick of Steinburg Negra on 09 Jan 2018 at 10:17 - Score: 4

Dark red brown colour with thin head. For a dark one of this strength it’s really bland. Some light caramel malts and an aftertaste of saccharin. Poor.
