Hunsfos historielag.

Many thanks to yngwie for sending us a 330ml bottle, batch #2. Patchy, pearl white head, spotty lacing, hazy golden body. Moderate smell of citrus and tropical fruits. Rather fresh, succulent taste of citrus and pine. Subdued fruity bitterness to the ending. Soft in the mouth. Likable (Shared with Finn and djoeye at a rating session in Tromsø, 09.01.2017).

Hazed golden color with a white head. Some lacing. Decent intensity in the aroma. Medium body and an ok carbonation. Decent balance between sweetness and bitterness. Mild fruity, pine, malty and citric hoppy. Decent tasty ale.

Bottle. A hazy, orange colored beer with a small, beige head leaving lacings. The aroma is mostly on the piney, citrusy side, with some malts and a yeasty touch in the back. It’s medium to full-bodied, pleasantly carbonated and semi-dry. Pine cones, orange and grapefruit and a nice bitterness in the flavor. Some biscuity malts and a hint of yeast. Hop dominated finish. Sure not a bad one, but a tad too yeasty and in my opinion, sort of like glorified homebrew. 160327

330 ml bottle 4,6% – batch #2 from the brewery (not the previous Søgaards Bryghus version) Unclear orange body with a nice, medium sized off-white head. Strong hoppy aroma totally dominated by fresh citric fruit and some caramel malt in the background. Flavor is mild caramel malt with lots of citric fruit, peaches, some grapefruit and pine, pretty good bitterness. Medium body i.e. well balanced for the beer and long lasting refreshing fruity and bitter aftertaste with some malty sweetness. A really well made APA, as I find the style itself boring this was a positive surprise and is a beer a just need to have again. Served fresh this should easily become my local Lucky Jack.
