A dark golden ale with a big, hoppy aroma and flavour over a fine malty base - well-balanced, with a hint of spiciness from the hops. A strange brew indeed and fitting for Halloween, as this beer only came into being because of a mistake by our maltsters that led us to blend two beers together. Now a separate brew with five hops and four different hop additions to the brew kettle.

Cask at Swan Inn, Farnborough. Sweet caramel aroma, but weak. Bright amber, decent white head. Sweet, with an underying bitterness. Smooth. Thirst quenching, with a dry and chalky finish. Sugar, caramel, malts, some ghostly hops. Not really strange, more quiet and unassuming.

(Cask at The Harp, London) Now this was a pleasant hoppy bitter. The bitter characteristics were there but on the top of them I could find scent and flavour of pine and clear bitterness. Hoppiness was also nicely balanced.
