Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with light notes of caramel, while the flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, leading to a dry and slightly metallic end. The body is a bit light.

330ml bottle. Nice dark body with a thick red head. Sweet malty aroma with some caramel. Quite sweet flavor, some roasted malt and traces of hops. A sweet and warm aftertaste. Some more alcohol and hops might be the thing for this beer, but there is not much to do with the alcohol as long as this beer is intended to be sold at regular shops. A boring Christmas beer, but actually quite nice as a lager. Compared with the other Bryggerimeter Special for fish, this is a lot better.

Bottled. Clear, reddish-brown with a nice beige head. Caramel and some roasted malt in the aroma, as well as some sweet notes. Too sweet, with caramel, roasted malt and sugar. Could use some more body as well, but it’s only 4.5% so it is excused. It has some citric fruityness and sweetness in the finish, but not much hops. Much more suited for the christmas-dinner than the fishdish-version. I probably won’t buy this one again either, I prefer the stronger Norwegian Christmas beers. (061110)

330 ml green bottle. Copper coloured, large and creamy light tan head. Moderate but pleasant aroma of bakery, caramel, juniper berries and wild cranberries. Flavour has a noticeable malts and caramel sweetness with some bready notes, faint hints of spices, minimal hops, short and slightly dusty finish. Minimal and boring afteraste. Too thin mouthfeel for a "juleøl", despite the initial sweetness. Won’t be my choice for "the meat dishes of Christmas" this one.
