Looks quite light brownish, with some off-white foam. Smells roasty. Some sharp carbonation. Taste is pretty good, lots of roasty coffee flavour and some dark chocolate sweetness. Malty, very toasty. Not bad, easily drinkable, but a bit one-dimensional.

Can. Nose is is malt, hints of chocolate, slight roast and earth. Taste is chocolate, roast, the spice from the rye is present, some coffee and liquorice with a hint of soy, hints of cola, candy sugar, very sweet.

Can. Mitchell’s Wines, Sheffield. Clear, dark chestnut brown. Fine, dense, beige head. Nose has dried vine fruit. Some liquorice. Chocolate malt. Some coffee. Taste is ridiculously sweet, with barely a trace of bitterness. Medium body. Soft carbonation. More sweetness to finish. Why would you put lactose in a Baltic Porter? This is another example of Abbeydale missing the mark by miles.

Can from the crafty bottle Lincoln. Off black colour with a tan head. Aroma is chocolatey. Taste bittersweet. Big creamy and smooth body.
