On keg at Hand Drawn Monkey in Huddersfield. Patchy surface to a pitch black body. Rich and inviting aromas of dark malts, coffee and chocolate. Well blended taste of coffee, dark chocolate and earthy malts. Smooth and long-lived roasted finish. Fine bodied. Lovely stout (09.07.2014).

Draught (Brigantes, York) - Black with a tan head. Coffee, oats and roasted malt in the aroma. Roasted coffee dominates in the taste with hints of cocoa and liquorice also detected.

Tap at Sheffield Tap. Clear, darkest brown. Minimal head. Coffee beans. Vanilla. Caramel. Gianduja. Treacle. Taste is treacle sweet, then the coffee led dryness and light bitterness rolls along. Smooth, almost creamy palate. Virtually no carbonation, but not to any detriment. Finish is all of that, with the coffee and vanilla lingering longest. Delicious.

Cask, handpump at The Hand Drawn Monkey, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, Friday 14th February 2014 Pours black with a beige head, coffee and noisette on nose, almost abrasive accirding to Loz, not sure I agree with her but it does come across as a hazelnut coffee type nose. Rich aroma coffee, hazlenut and bitter roastiness throughout, very easy drinking for the abv. Like it. A6 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.7

Cask @ Old Gate, Hebden Bridge. Black with a thick off-white creamy head. It’s full-bodied with a heavy texture and full of dark chocolates that are slightly burnt.
