Tried in a bottle from Crafty Bottle, Lincoln. Deep cola colour with a thin tan head. Toffee and light fruit aroma with some chocolate. Slightly light body and really nice.

Appearance- very dark brown, almost black, a beige foamy head which quickly disappears. Aroma- chocolate, fig, dark chocolate-covered raisin, caramel malt, fruitcake, Belgian yeast, toffee fudge, vanilla, marzipan. Smells lovely. Taste- fruitcake with coffee icing, sugary dark fruit, caramel biscuity malt, slightly burnt toast, sweet toasty malt finish, dark chocolate undertones throughout. Mouthfeel a little thin, but good overall.

330ml bottle bought at Tall Boys Beer Market in Leeds. Coal black body. Tan-coloured head quickly disappearing. Modest aroma of anise and dark fruits. Spiced dark fruity flavours mixed with liquorice. Malt bitter endnotes with a backdrop of yeasty fruitiness. Soft carbonated. Satisfying (student flat, campus, Leeds 07.07.2015).

Bottle. Clear, deep red. Halo of off white head. Sweet, granary bread. Some caramel cola thing going on. Taste is cola sweet. Turns fruity dry. Plenty of soft carbonation. Finish had a little charred wood bitterness to it. Not my bag.

Clear deep amber beer, small cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry, mild fine carbonation. Smooth malts, little cream. Twangy caramel. Mild spice. Little ripe fruits. Semi dry finish. Okay.

330ml bottle from Turner’s Beer Shop, Abbeydale - Clear dark ruby body, thick tan head. Nose is a bit of yeast, some dark red fruits. Taste is spicy fruit cake, bits of raisin, bits of winter spices. Slight warmth on the way down. Not disappointing.

33cl bottle from Beer52.com. Glossy black with a ring of beige head; malty aroma; rather thin with a sweet brown sugar taste with a touch of spice; and a dry warming finish.
