Mango Ale Brewed with a Hint of Habanero

Mango Magnifico is a high-gravity fruit beer brewed with mango and a touch of habaneros to add just the right amount of heat. The delicate flavors imparted by the sweet richness of the mango are punctuated perfectly by the subtle heat of the habaneros, proving that fruit beers do not have to be one-note.

Admin Note: Released as part of the Backstage Series in 2013 and 2016 and as part of the Bottle Shop Series in 2022.

I’m in the " this is brutal" camp. From bomber, nice color but it’s like children’s robutussin plus Tabasco. Expected more hops.

Bottle. Hazy orange in color with no head. Aroma is fruity. Taste is fruity sweet upfront, pepper in the middle with heat on the finish.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour with a small creamy white head. Aroma is fruity, some sweet malts, mild spices as well as some sweet juicy notes. Flavour is slightly spicy, some mango, tropical fruits and mild toffeeish notes. Also a slight alcohol burn to it.

This brew’s malty aroma is full of mango with underlying habanero. The flavor is sweet with lots of mango and some heat that’s mostly noticeable in the finish. The 10% abv is barely detectable. Full bodied. Very tasty.

Bottle, from the bottle shop series. Deep orange in color with a small beige head. Sweet aroma is fruity and light hints of the pepper. Has a nice balance of sweet and heat, reminds me a lot of mango jalepeno jelly. Light heat on the backend. The abv is well hidden, but noticeable. Overall pretty good stuff.

Bottle shop Series. Single from Webb Chapel in Dallas. Bottled on 5.27.22. Pint glass @ the bnb. Pour was all head, buttercream. Opaque but it hazy orange gold. Smell is Tajin candy, caramel, some apple, odd peppers, wax, cheap booze. Taste is an unsettling mix. Orange, caramel, dank, Cheerios, Cayenne, rind, papaya, Euro lager, big oxidation. I don't get that classic habanero complexity(or it's probably just buried in trash). Thick, very low carb, sharp, muddled. Messy.

Mango sounds all right, habanero, not so sure about that. I’ve generally liked the Founders cocktail brews, time to find out about this one. A 12 oz bottle, opened now and going inside of my ABGB snifter. The view is a dense orange liquid with a skim settling to a ring of light tan foam. The smell is fruity, I suppose that can be mango. The drink is is an improvement, very cocktailish with a subdued mango and a fair amount of heat following. Sweet and substantial. A decent brew, not to the level of others of the style from the brewer.

2022 Bottle Shop Series release. Bottle from Livonia Liquor. Pours a mostly clear amber with a full two fingers off-white head that lingers. Lots of mango on the nose with a touch of fruity and spicy habanero. Palate is the same with mango up front and habanero on the finish. ABV hidden well. Solid.
