Citra-Hero® is an elegant American IPA designed to showcase the Citra® hop. This IPA is exploding with citrusy flavors and aromas.

We utilized 2-row, Pale Ale, Red Wheat and Belgian Aromatic malts to provide a deep golden color and clean malt profile for this hoppy ale. Multiple additions of Citra® in the brew kettle infuse this beer with deep layers of citrus aroma and flavor and a clean, crisp yet intense bitterness. After primary fermentation with our English Ale Yeast we dry-hopped with one pound per barrel of Citra® once again to really load this ale up with a burst of fresh citrus fruit.

Weighing in at 7.5% ABV this ale is sturdy enough to hold up to the higher bitterness level but is still quite sessionable and exploding with fresh hop character!

Draft. Deep golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of citrus, orange, light pine, lemon. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery/sticky texture, lively carbonation. Taste of orange, pineapple, light grapefruit. Lots of citrus IPAs out there. This one is nicely balanced, staying on the sweet side — which makes it easy drinking.

I’ve always been a fan of Revolution and would love to try some of their big canned barley wines & stouts. Revolution Citra-Hero 7.5% I gotta say that the can (from CBB) of Citra Hero served in my IPA glass smoked Mosaic Hero on tap in a regular glass in terms of an aroma that makes you go: Wow, fruity (papaya/kumquat) goodness. It has a lovely mellow orange gold color with a thick fluffy light beige head. Medium bodied with a smooth/slick mouthfeel that I enjoy. Bitter but balanced sweet tart candy and juicy orange citrus flavor. I’m really digging this. I want to try more of this series... ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

can - Lightly hazy copper pour with an off-white head. The aroma is full of citrus hops. The flavor is too along with resin and some caramel malt. Big, crisp bitterness. Quite tasty.

Can. Crisp lemon nose, Citra hops, a bit soapy. Glowing orange-golden color, hazy. Sweet and lemony with nice Citra coming through and an oily palate.

IPA in a can. Smells like ruff IPA, with no volatile BO tho. Cloudy IPA look with a thin creamy head. Big strong citrusy IPA punch in the face. Over the top and rototiller down the back of my throat. What else fricken can be said? Terribly terrible and rudely on style, could pass as an impy. This gets a 10 out of 10 for nasty nellie-ship Whew! Such a palate wrecker. If you like IPA, you need to experience this happy hoppy BS!!

Can from Tanakaya. Drank straight form the can. Lovely citra-forward nose with lots of bright citrus. Body and palate are where things slide for me. Big toasted caramel notes that clash with the bright, light fun of citra on the palate. Lemon and caramel stand out. Slight syrupy and too heavy for my liking. Kind of old school IPA with new school hops I guess. --- Beer merged from original tick of Citra-Hero on 25 Aug 2016 at 19:38 - Score: 6. Original review text: Nice light Citra nose...runs to the palate as well but is muted by a ton of toasted caramel. Waste of Citra.....
