Lattina.

Can from Pub-up-beershop, Wolvega. Fairly fruity aroma, with grapefruit, citrus, grassy notes, light pine. Some milk sugar sweetness, but not too bothersome. Medium bitter, body is medium. Fine IPA.

My first effort at a milkshake ipa of any kind. Not expecting anything life-changing but let us give it a go. This 12 oz can came from a Total Wine In Houston a few weeks ago. I make the pour inside of a Great Heights snifter and determine a fairly clear, pale yellow body with hardly any head. The scent is a subtly different sweetish pine. And a drink gives me a bit of resin, cut grass, tropical fruit, a small sweetness and a moderate ending bitterness. I am not making out a big departure from your usual ipa. Pleasant enough, certainly better than a brut ipa.

So, milk sugar is supposed to make it less bitter it says. Well first off, how is this supposed to be a hazy milk shake? It barely even has a haze on it. Maybe because it has lactose? I'm tired of hazy or milshake beers that aren't even the slightest bit hazy. And besides, its still bitter as all hell. Yes, it even comes across as a little rubbery tasting. Why on earth would somebody make an IPA and then say they added something to make it less bitter? Isn't that what IPA is all about? Straight up bitter ass bullshit? Just asking, I don't like IPA anyway so this was just a tick. BTW barely any noticeable citrus aroma to this one. Oh well. Got it in the clearance bin at JR's for a dollar and it taste like it was a dollar too.

Can from Beer Hop. It pours of bright golden - yellow with a thick, fluffy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, creamy, tropical fruits, fruit smoothie, peachy, mango sorbet, guanabana, fruit pudding, brioche and Fanta ice cream float. The taste is initially dry, bitter - sweet, more bitter than I was expecting from the verbage on the can, creamy, ice cream float, peppery spice, pithy, zesty, bitter orange peel, tangerine, mango, grassy, pine, resin, slightly soapy, white bread malt base and a kick of alcohol. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. It's not lacking in flavour and is punchier than expected. Perhaps lacks a bit of balance though. Not bad.

330ml can from the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, orange, tangerine citrus fruits. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter, with a fresh, crisp, juicy citrus, light dry pepper spice, light sweet lactose, light hop bitter palate. Medium to light bodied with average carbonation.

Can at home, golden beer, small head. Aroma is citrus, fruity, floral, hops. Taste is the same, dry, bitter, light resin, bitter aftertaste, light hint of the lactose creaminess. nice one.

355 ml can poured in to a Tulip. Clear golden colour with a thin white head. Fruity aroma with citrus, grasses, floral hoppy notes. Some sweetness from the lactose. Taste is light bitter. Medium bodied. Slightly drying fruity finish with fruits and tropical impressions. Ok, the lactose doesn't do anything good for IPA's in my opinion.
