A really exciting collab between RoW and Odyssey Brewing. In 2019 Odyssey produced a simple pale wort with aged hops, that was sent to Ross on Wye and aged in 3 different ex-whisky barrels on cider lees. The Laphraoig barrel was also topped up with 25% cider. It was then then lightly bottle conditioned. The result is a sumptuous harmony of beer, cider and barrel.

Panda from Ed Danlo. Thank you. Slightly opaque light gold. No head after a few translucent bubbles have faded. Aroma has sweey and sour apple and booze. Smokey peat then appears. Flavourwise it's sour and tart with booze and smokey peat. Light. Thin. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. Nice.

Bottle. No idea where from. Online somehow. Light haze on a straw colour. Healthy thin lasting white foam. Nose has big TCP and sticking plaster notes. Stinky apple. Oak. Taste has a ripe apple tannic bitterness with some fleshy sweetness. Mouthfeel is crisp and clean with lively burp inducing carbonation. Lightly drying finish. Peaty as fuck which isnโt my bag but the quality canโt be denied.

Bottle big thanks to Kenny. It pours hazy greenish - yellow with a fizzy white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, tart, tangy, zing, barnyard, funk, musty, brett, sour apple, pear skin, vinous, white wine, then it's smokey, medicinal, classic Laphroaig accents and dry oak. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, tart, puckering, light tannin, apple skin, granny smith apple, white grape, pear, vinous, gooseberry, sherbet, refreshers, lemon peel, warming and woody, initially the smoke is mellow then it ramps up, medicinal, tannin, hay and light spice with a drying, oaky finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Love it. Beer, cider, funk and Laphroaig. What's not to like? Exceptional.
