Bottle from 1280's new location, day 1, as a take-out. Sampled a few days later to keep it fresh as possible, always kept cool as far as I can tell. The can certainly looked nice, and was priced very favourable. Only later on, by creating this entry, I saw the brewery not only uses (very small) printed number ( In pursuit isn't just one beer, there's a number thing going on) , they also use different colored cans to create differences between beers that have the very same labels. Tickin' really gets exhausting these days ! How people should know without looking it up specifically, I don't know.
Anyway.
The beer itself pours very hazy, darker blonde. The can calls you out to shake, to 'release the haze' (oh how the beer world has changed. Remember those times nearly ALL beers should be as clear as possible ? ) I didn't shake it (yet) so i'm in for a surprise at the end I guess. The white foam dissapears fast. The scent is milky, citrus, creamy, pineapple, mild maltyness. Enjoyable, but nothing crazy so far, in a medium to perhaps slightly above medium intensity.
The taste starts a bit 'herbal' and green, even has notes of DMS (very mildly, not troublesome, yet present). The hops provide some citrus but suffer under a heavy, green, herbal, earth-vegetables (cabbage , cauliflower) like aroma, which I hate as a specific, but they do work in this beer ( a bit ) . It's of course a close jump to actual DMS, so i'm no longer sure this is either DMS overtaking the hoparoma, of the hoparoma presenting itself as a close resemblance to DMS. The beer itself tastes fairly refreshing ( NEIPA style-wise very correct) , with a low bitterness and creamy body. Perhaps a tad sharper carbonation than I would have prefered. Otherwise, fine NEIPA. I'm happy to have bought another can by them, so I can see if the next beer suits me better, and this is a personal taste-off note, or the brewery really puts out beers that aren't 100% the way they should be. Time will tell, I suppose? For now, enjoyable beer for a can (44cl alone) but I wouldn't crave a second.
