Can from Luvians Cupar. It pours darkest brown to black with a decent fluffy tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, toasty, liquorice, umami, milky rich roast coffee, oily, unctuous and gateaux. The taste is slick, oily, rich roasted malt, bitter - sweet, chewy, toothy, umami, liquorice, dried & dark fruits, plum, fruit cake, milk chocolate, chocolate gateaux, jammy and some mellow alcohol warmth with a toasty, chewy finish. Fulsome body and fine+ carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but very enjoyable anyhow. Moreish.

Black beer, tan head. Malty aroma. A boozy smell, seems barrel aged. Boozy, bourbony, lots of malty anise and dried fruit. Very decent.

Can from the Guildford Arms. Appearance - opaque black, low carbonation. Crema like. Nose - honeycomb, caramel and dark chocolate. Taste - deep dark chocolate and booze. Liqueur like. Maybe something fruity like blackcurrant or black cherry jam. Palate - rich and close to full bodied. Long linger and gently tapering. Overall - lovely beer!
