Six years on from our first collaboration, Doug Odell returned to Knaresborough and promptly set about ensuring he once again left our hop store severely depleted. A blend of four types of malt and the addition of oats, combined with a blend of six different new world hops, results in a juicy IPA that carries a moderately low bitterness and a thirst-quenching finish.

Three Johns. Keg. Light haze on this amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, reasonable fine minerally carbonation. Some creamy sweetness and a little caramel. Light esters on the mid, still too many for my liking. Decent piney hops with trace of juicy tropical fruits, however that is taken over by bitter citric peel and dry pith. Spicy bitter finish. As Garrold says below - quite old school but it's okay.

Can. Wine Rack, Sharrow, Sheffield. Clear, pale amber. Skim of white. Nose has toffee malts. Barley sugar sweets. Sappy pine. Resin. Touch of minty herb. Smells like a hoppy amber ale. Taste is sweet and toffee like, with a moderate, resinous bitterness. Medium body. A little slick. Low carbonation. Piny and resinous finish. Ok. Very old school.
