Clear amber beer, good white head. Looks like the prototype old fashioned bitter. Isn't the best example of it but there's a good balance of malt and hop with a touch of fruit. Slightly musty aftertaste to bring it down but this is thoroughly drinkable.

20th Feb 2018. Cask half pint in Montgomery's Tower, Shrewsbury. Amber body, smooth white blanket of foam on top. Aroma had a light malty lead, as did the taste initially, then the bitterness arrives from the hop content and this takes over the flavour, liked it.

Cask at the Old Manor (JDW), Bracknell. A bright golden amber colour with a loose white head; floral aroma; rather thin with a sweet floral taste and a biscuity body; then some caramel to finish. Very pleasant.

Cask at the moon under water Watford Jdw. A clear mid amber coloured pour with a lasting G white froth. Aroma is biscuity malts, nutty, zesty orange, light twiggy notes . Flavour is composed of semi sweet malts, nutty and light toasted notes, orange marmalade on toast, dried fruits. Palate is semi sweet, decent cask condition. Not bad.
