Handpull cask at the Salmon, Leicester. Light reddish brown, clear. A thin layer of off-white foamy head. Simple caramel aroma with a good dollop of leafy hop giving some woody sage tones to the bouquet. Malt-led flavour but the bittering hop is strong, shaping the finish into a strong but never harsh bitterness. Body has a pleasant fullness to it. An enjoyable old-school strong(ish) bitter.

Cask pint in the Eagle, Boston Lincolnshire on 2nd Mar 2017. A red hue to the true mahogany coloured body, the head a lasting off-white affair. Malty and fruity from the start, hop bitter finish. Liked it.

Cask at the Cambridge Blue, Cambridge on 12th April 2016. Copper with declining off white ring-and-film. Malty aroma with leafy herbiness. Herby hops, sweet malts and a citrus touch in-mouth. A diacetyl touch. Bitter finish rescues the beer somewhat. Light mouthfeel and body.
